Pittsburgh, PA, United States (4E Sports) - The Pittsburgh Steelers made Maurkice Pouncey the league's highest-paid center after signing him to a five-year contract extension worth $44 million.

The extension will start next year after Pouncey plays out the final year of his contract. He is scheduled to make $3.863 million this year.

Boston, MA, United States (4E Sports) - Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley announced the filing of murder charges against former New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez for the killing of two men outside a club in July 2012.

Already charged with murder in the June 2013 execution-style shooting of Odin L. Lloyd, Hernandez was indicted today on murder charges in connection with the July 16, 2012 South End killings of Daniel deAbreu, 29, and Safiro Furtado, 28.

General manager Ray Farmer was whispered about as having fallen for Teddy Bridgewater, but the Browns have opted for Manziel.

Manziel admitted it was tough to see 21 others selected before him, but felt that whatever team drafted him would be the right situation for him.

New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) - South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has signed an endorsement deal with Puma.

Clowney is expected to be picked No. 1 overall by the Houston Texans in Thursday's NFL draft.

"I just want to be a part of something different," said Clowney, who is Puma's only signee for this year's draft class.

However, he won't be able to wear cleats with the Puma logo on the field due to NFL restrictions.

Seattle, WA, United States (4E Sports) - Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman is now the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL after signing a four-year, $57.4 million contract extension.

Sherman noted on his Twitter account and on his blog page Wednesday that the extension includes $40 million in guaranteed money.

"The terms of my deal are 4 years for a total of $57.4M with $40M guaranteed. There is no other city or team that I would want to play football for," wrote Sherman.

Seattle, WA, United States (4E Sports) - The reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks have hired former Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland as a pre-draft consultant.

The team owns the 32nd overall pick in the draft, which begins May 8.

It is unclear whether Ireland will remain with the Seahawks beyond May 10, the last day of this year's draft.

Miami reached the playoffs only once in Ireland's six seasons with the team and his tenure ended in January.

Dallas, TX, United States (4E Sports) - Defensive end Anthony Spencer will remain with the Dallas Cowboys after signing a one-year deal with the squad.

This is the third straight one-year deal Spencer has had with the Cowboys. He made nearly $20 million in 2011 and 2012 as the team's franchise player.

Spencer, the Cowboys' first-round pick in 2007, played in only one game last year because of a knee injury that required microfracture surgery.
